State’s volunteer opportunities online
The Washington Alliance for Volunteer Engagement has a Web site, www.volunteer washington.org, for state residents who want to volunteer in their communities on a regular basis and who would volunteer in case of a regional disaster.
The organization aims to find volunteers in every ZIP code in the state for a database in case of disaster.
Partners in the project include the Volunteer Centers of Washington, the state office of the Commission for National and Community Service, the Washington Association of Retired Senior Volunteer Program directors and the Points of Light Foundation.
