Community Transit offers a Fabulous Fun Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Merrill Creek Operations Base, 7100 Hardeson Road, Everett.

Free shuttles will run from Everett Station and the Ash Way Park &Ride lot in Lynnwood every half-hour from 9:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Visitors can tour buses, help paint a bus and take a tour through the maintenance shop. There will be free food and entertainment from ’70s cover band The Afrodisiacs. The event will include appearances by Miss Washington Tina Marie Mares and Oxy Gene and his mascot friends, as well as booths, door prize drawings, face painting, a bike rodeo and demonstrations from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Coast Guard and World War II-era patrol boats will be on display this weekend at South Lake Union Park in Seattle to mark the 62nd anniversary of the D-Day landing.

The schedule of events:

Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., 83-foot cutters CG-83527 and CG-83366 open for tours at the Historic Ships Wharf, 860 Terry Ave. N.

Sunday: 1 p.m., search and rescue demonstration.

Monday: noon to 4 p.m., ship tours.

Tuesday: 10 a.m., commemoration ceremony.

The Orca Network and Hoodsport Winery will hold a whale presentation and wine tasting from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenbank Farm, 765 Wonn Road, Greenbank, on Whidbey Island.

Learn about orcas and see whether you can spot one from a vantage point at Saratoga Passage.

Review materials being considered for science classes in the Everett School District from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the administration center, 4730 Colby Ave., Everett.

Textbooks include “Conceptual Physics” (Prentice Hall), “Biology” (Pearson, Benjamin Cummings), “Living for Chemistry” (Key Curriculum Press), “World of Chemistry” (McDougal-Littell) and “Math Whizz Teachers Resource” (Whizz Education).
