A fundraising car wash is planned for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kent Prairie Elementary School, 8110 207th St., Arlington.
Matthew attends Kent Prairie, which is in the Arlington School District. Classmates and friends will wash cars to raise money for the Matthew Colson Fund at Washington Mutual Bank.
U.S. flags will be retired in Gold Bar
Gold Bar Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9417 offers a ceremony to retire American flags at 2 p.m. Sunday at 301 Third St., Gold Bar.
Boy Scouts from Monroe and Sultan and Girl Scouts from Sultan will be participating. Anyone with a flag to retire may bring it to the event.
Help give Mukilteo a spring cleaning
Two spring clean-up days are scheduled for Monday and Wednesday for Mukilteo residents.
Those who receive regular residential waste removal service may leave items for pickup on those two days. Items must be bundled, boxed or bagged and placed at curbside with the regular trash containers.

Gov. Chris Gregoire proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. She asks Washington residents to keep children safe from harm.
Last year, the Department of Social and Health Services investigated more than 36,000 calls reporting the abuse or neglect of children.
