FYI

The Snohomish County Women’s Legacy Project, at its annual luncheon on Tuesday, honored three women who have had a lasting impact on their communities.

Recognized at the Everett Public Library event were:

* Monroe painter Genevieve Tuck, Snohomish County’s artist of the year in 1995.

* Lorraine Smith, who has shared her “Rosie the riveter” experiences as an aircraft worker during World War II.

* Mary Duryee, a lifelong Everett resident and community volunteer who ran Duryee and Co. Real Estate during World War II.

The project’s aim is to produce a book chronicling women’s contributions throughout Snohomish County’s history.
