Free microchip implants will be provided to the first 200 pets at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. The implants contain the pet owner’s name and contact information, helping ensure that the animal is returned to its owner if it gets lost.
The program is for Snohomish County residents only. Cats must be in a carrier, and dogs must be on a leash.
The fairgrounds is at 14405 179th Ave. SE in Monroe, off U.S. 2.
This is the sixth time the free event has been held. More than 800 chips have been distributed since 2003.
