Don’t fight traffic at malls, and don’t search in vain for parking. Take the bus.
Community Transit service goes to almost every major shopping area in Snohomish County, and has routes to downtown Seattle. Routes serve Mill Creek Towne Center, downtown Edmonds, Lynnwood, Marysville, Arlington, Stanwood, Snohomish, Monroe, Lake Stevens and many other areas.
Community Transit also serves Alderwood mall, the region’s largest retail center. Eleven bus routes make 24 trips an hour weekdays to the mall and 18 on weekends. Also on weekends, Community Transit has plenty of parking at the Lynnwood Transit Center, with frequent service to Alderwood mall on Routes 112, 114, 115, 118, 119, 201 and 202. All of the routes go to the mall, and one leaves every five to 10 minutes.
Community Transit also connects with Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit and Sound Transit to take you to many other destinations.

Passport office hours extended
Beginning Jan. 3, Bothell will offer expanded hours for passport services at 10116 NE 183rd St., Bothell.
Applications will be received from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Before Jan. 3, hours were limited on two weekdays.
The passport fee for ages 16 and older is $67, and for 15 and under $52, payable to the U.S. Department of State; there is a $30 processing fee per passport paid to the city of Bothell.
Learn all about gingerbread art
Jeanette Dushkin, the Travelin’ Crafter, will teach kids how to make an old-fashioned gingerbread house at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Arlington Boys &Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.
The class costs $12 and is for kids ages 5 and older.
