County Web site down for weekend
Snohomish County’s Web site is unavailable today and Sunday while the county finishes moving its computer system into a new data center.
4-H club collects pet food today
The Lucky Beef-N-Us 4-H Club is collecting pet food from 9 a.m. to noon today at Dayville Hay and Grain, 11804 Springhetti Road, Snohomish.
The pet food will go to the Snohomish Food Bank.
Officers take kids holiday shopping
Law enforcement officers will help children in need shop for Christmas today at the Navy Support Complex in Smokey Point as part of the “Shop with a Cop” program.
Children are allowed to select $100 of merchandise.
Buy a bike or join a repair program
Sharing Wheels will have a refurbished bike sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 2531 Broadway in Everett. Earn your own bike and learn to repair bicycles.
Teens may also sign up for a Dec. 19-23 bike camp for $30.
Learn about Aerocars Sunday
The Museum of Snohomish County History offers “A Drive in the Clouds – The Story of the Aerocar” at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
At the free program, aviation expert Jake Schultz will show original slides of the Aerocar, designed by Longview resident Molt Taylor, who built six models in the 1950s.
Calendar supports cancer research
The Angel Care-Breast Cancer Foundation will sell 2006 calendars for $15 from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the new Borders store in Everett Mall. Cancer survivors clad only in wings are tastefully featured.

The city of Stanwood paid Sno-Isle Libraries $131,654 as an annual fee for library services. A Budget Watch item on Page B2 Thursday incorrectly attributed the payment to a different contract.
