WASL gender gap talk will air again
KSER radio (90.7 FM) will repeat at 5 p.m. Tuesday its interview with Herald reporters Eric Stevick and Scott North on the WASL gender gap.
In addition to the KSER interview, Stevick and North did another interview with KIRO radio (710 AM) on the topic Dec. 3. On both occasions, the reporters discussed the newspaper’s analysis of 76,000 WASL scores from tests taken last spring. The Herald’s story about the WASL gender gap can be found under “special reports” at www.heraldnet.com.
Mediation sessions offered for families
The Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish and Island Counties, a program of Volunteers of America, will offer special holiday mediation sessions for parents who are having difficulty determining where their children will spend their school holiday vacation, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Hanukkah.
Offered at no cost, these special mediation sessions can help reduce the conflict, stress and anxiety during the holiday season. Call 425-339-1335 to schedule a mediation session. Appointments are available until Friday.
Tell us where the lights are
The Herald plans to publish a list of neighborhoods and homes with great holiday light displays so drivers can take a tour. If you’ve seen a good display, send us the address by e-mailing newstips@ heraldnet.com.
Share traditions with The Herald
The Herald wants to hear about your holiday traditions.
With all the emphasis on food during the holidays, we want to write about the activities, outings and games that you and your family take up to celebrate your time together. Do you take the kids to the mountains to go sledding? Perhaps you have a Monopoly tournament? Maybe you sing carols around the piano.
Tells us about your favorite tradition in 100 words or less. Send your story, along with your name and city, to reporter Sarah Jackson at sjackson@heraldnet. com or P.O. Box 930, Everett, WA 98206, by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Include your phone number – for verification, not publication.
If you have great photos, we’d like to see them, too.
