FYI: Buy barbecued ribs for fundraiser

The Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association offers its annual Rib Cook-Off to raise money for breast cancer research.

It’s noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Safeway, 5802 134th Place SE, Everett.

A rack of ribs will sell for $20; you can buy three ribs for $5.

Proceeds benefit breast cancer research.

Granite Falls class reunion

The Granite Falls Alumni Association meets Saturday and honors the class of 1958. Former students and faculty are invited to the annual meeting at 10 a.m. at Father’s House, 402 Granite Ave. Breakfast, $8, is served from 9 to 10 a.m.

As long as you’re in town, enjoy the Railroad Days parade at noon.

Fire safety tips in Lake Stevens

Lake Stevens Fire District 8 kicks off Fire Prevention Week Sunday at Haggen Food and Pharmacy.

Get safety tips, see Sparky’s Hazard House, learn about smoke detectors and take tours of emergency vehicles from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 8915 Market Place NE in Lake Stevens.

Help plant daffodils Saturday in Bothell

The city of Bothell invites people to help prepare for the city’s centennial at a daffodil planting. The city turns 100 on April 14.

Volunteer from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9919 NE 180th St.; Stipek Park, 1800 242nd St. SE; or Cedar Grove Park, 22421 Ninth Ave. SE.

Bring your own gloves and tools if you have them. While supplies last, get free daffodil bulbs at the Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce, 10017 NE 185th St., to plant at homes or businesses.
