Community Transit is giving away copies of a free DVD, “How to Ride: An Introduction to Community Transit.”
The 11-minute DVD has tips on taking the bus and offers information in English, Spanish, Korean and Russian.
The DVD is available on the agency’s Web site, www.community transit.org.
The DVD can also be checked out at all Sno-Isle libraries and at the Ethnic Elder Fair on Sept. 6 in Lynnwood.
Meeting to update on utility projects
Those who live in Arlington and pay sewer rates are encouraged to attend a meeting presented by the city, utilities manager James Kelley said.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Utilities Administration Building, 154 Cox Ave., across from the food bank in Arlington.
Topics include the comprehensive plan for the sewer system, the wastewater treatment plant upgrade and expansion, and food-waste recycling.
Fitzgerald Road closes for paving
Drivers should expect traffic delays because of road closures through Wednesday on Fitzgerald Road.
Temporary lane closures, causing delays of up to 20 minutes, are planned between 228th Street SE and 231st Street SE.
Full road closures are planned between 231st and 240th Streets SE. Flaggers will be posted at each end of the area. A detour will be provided from 240th Street SE to 35th Avenue SE to 228th Street SE, for both northbound and southbound traffic.
Sultan revising its development plan
A draft revision to the city’s 20-year comprehensive plan is available for public comment. The plan is a long-term blueprint for the city’s future development. The city needs to revise the plan to meet the requirements of state law.
A community open house is 4 p.m. on Aug. 19 in the community center at 319 Main St.
Marysville council takes August off
The Marysville City Council is not meeting in the month of August.
The council usually meets the first four Mondays of each month. Every year, the City Council is off for the month of August.
The last meeting was July 28. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 2.
