Mothers and their babies will gather for what is being billed as a natural picnic at the 11th annual Snohomish County Breastfeeding Celebration and Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett.
The event is sponsored by the Snohomish Health District; Women, Infant and Children’s (WIC) nutrition program/First Steps clinic-based program; La Leche League of Snohomish County; Pregnancy Aid WIC; and Snohomish County Breastfeeding Coalition.
The event theme is “Be a Star: Support Breastfeeding.”
Activities include a resource fair, silent auction and family-friendly music. The first 100 families to arrive will receive a free gift bag.
“Be a Star” organizers hope to establish a record “nurse-in” of mothers breastfeeding their babies simultaneously at 10:30 a.m.
For more information, call the Snohomish County La Leche League helpline, 425-303-0311, or visit www.lalecheleague.org.
