Merry Haven Care Center in Snohomish needs about 20 pumpkins for a project by Snohomish High School’s “reaching out to seniors” program.

Red Cross chapter marks 91 years
The Snohomish County chapter of the American Red Cross celebrates its 91st anniversary today.
With an annual budget of $1.1 million, the local chapter has 10 employees and more than 250 trained volunteers.

Benefit Saturday for Jerry Jacobs
Jerry Jacobs and his wife, Erin, have been active members of the Marysville and Lake Stevens communities for the past 16 years with activities including Little League, church and Housing Hope. Jerry Jacobs needs a a bone-marrow transplant and money is needed for medical expenses.
A benefit dinner and silent auction are planned for 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7215 51st Ave. NE in Marysville. Tickets are available at the door and cost $15, or $50 for a family.
