Join Friends of Camano Island Parks members on a guided community walk Saturday at Four Springs Lake Preserve.
Meet at 9:50 a.m. in the Four Springs parking lot at 585 Lewis Lane on Camano Island.
See the preserve with a walk on the perimeter trail, including the wetlands trail. The perimeter trail includes two fairly steep 50-foot hills. The distance of the walk is approximately two miles. A shorter, more level, option is available.
A tour of the Four Springs House, Meadow Room and barn is also available. The approximately two-hour hike takes place rain or shine. Wear appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes or boots.

Red Cross chapter calls for help
T.J. Harmon, executive director of the Island County Chapter of the American Red Cross, has sent out a call for help.
The chapter is having trouble sustaining programs that meet community needs, and even small monetary donations are helpful, Harmon said.
Donations can be mailed to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 1588, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
Park neighbors to discuss field use
Neighbors of Lynndale Park are invited to an annual community meeting to discuss Pacific Little League’s ongoing use of the athletic fields in the park.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lynndale Park Meeting Room, 18927 72nd Ave. W.
Talk about Camano development
The Island County hearing examiner offers a public hearing about a proposed public storage facility Thursday.
It’s planned for 10 a.m. at Four Springs House Meadow Room, 585 Lewis Lane on Camano Island.
The storage facility is proposed between Smith and Ell roads, south of Highway 532 on Camano Island.
