Firefighters save puppy from cliff
A Great Dane puppy got a lucky lift Monday afternoon when firefighters came to his rescue.
The dog, which was about 8 weeks old, had fallen from a cliff in the 1400 block of Potlatch Beach Road, Snohomish County Fire District 15 Deputy Chief Rob Johnson said.
The puppy could be heard whimpering from the road, Johnson said.
Johnson said the Tulalip Bay firefighters called in for extra help.
Marysville firefighters trained in cliff rescues responded to help retrieve the dog, he said.
Crews lowered a firefighter, and the dog was brought to safety. The puppy was returned to his owners. He had wandered off when a wireless collar system failed to restrain him.
Correction
Josh Dickenson of Everett gave cardiopulmonary resuscitation to a woman who was found floating in the water at Everett Marina on Sept. 11. His role in the rescue was not included in a story which appeared on Page B1 on Sept. 13.
