Stanwood principal gets a homecoming of sorts
The Stanwood-Camano School Board recently approved the appointment of a familiar figure to serve as principal at Port Susan Middle School during the 2008-09 school year.
Eldon Allen will replace Cinco Delgado, who recently resigned for a new job with Shoreline School District.
For Allen, the Port Susan post will be a homecoming of sorts.
He opened the school as principal in 1997 before becoming the district’s assistant superintendent three years later. He retired in 2005 but has come out of retirement to take interim posts since then. Last year, he served as principal at Gateway Middle School in Everett.
Allen has 36 years of experience in public education, mostly at the Stanwood district, where he also was an elementary school principal.
The Stanwood district will begin looking for qualified applicants for the Port Susan principal position in early 2009.
