SEATTLE — The union representing Waste Management garbage haulers launched a toll-free number (800-976-0071) and Web site, www.seattletrashwatch.com, that allows customers to report problems if workers strike or are locked out.
Hundreds of Waste Management garbage haulers in Snohomish and King counties continue to collect trash without a contract.
The union, Teamsters Local 174, and Waste Management officials tried to hash out a contract. Those talks stalled last week after the company offered what it called its final and best offer and union officials weren’t satisfied.
Customers who complain on the Web site or by calling the phone number will be connected to their local mayor’s office.
