The union representing garbage haulers and Waste Management officials say they want to go back to the negotiating table — they just haven’t figured out when.
Teamsters Local 174 released a statement Friday that Waste Management officials “refused to resume bargaining with sanitation workers” in Snohomish and King counties.
Not exactly, said Jackie Lang, Waste Management spokeswoman, on Friday. The union wanted to meet Tuesday at noon and officials from the company couldn’t then. They still want to find a time.
“We are looking forward to meeting with the union as soon as we can find a mutually agreeable time,” she said.
Talks stalled earlier this month after the company offered what it called its final and best offer, but union officials weren’t satisfied. Garbage haulers have been working without a contract.
