MONROE — A gas leak closed all lanes of U.S. 2 in downtown Monroe Monday morning.The leak is at Kelsey Street, according to the state Department of Transportation. The highway is closed at 179th Avenue SE and Chain Lake Road. Crews are working on setting up a detour. Westbound drivers can take Old Owen Road to Highway 522 to get to Seattle.Officials recommend drivers avoid the area until the leak is capped, as considerable traffic back-ups are expected. There is no word on when the leak is expected to be fixed.
