If your family wants to sign up for Get Movin’ the free summer program that provides prizes for kids to be active, get a move on.
The deadline to sign up is Thursday.
The program provides incentives, such as passes for swimming, climbing and other activities, for children who are activ
e for 30 minutes, five times a week.
The Get Movin’ program is now in its eighth summer. In addition to getting kids more active, adults are encouraged to get outdoors and plan outdoor adventures as a family.
Any activity a child or teen participates in qualifies in meeting the 30-minute, five day a week goal, including skateboarding, shooting hoops, playing catch or taking the dog for a walk.
The program is sponsored by a number of local organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA of Snohomish County, the cities of Everett, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood and Marysville, The Herald, Swedish/Edmonds, The Everett Clinic and Everett Transit.
