Get ready for snow this morning.
Forecasters are predicting as much as two inches of snow to fall in the lowlands of Snohomish County later this morning and much more is predicted to accumulate at Stevens Pass.
The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a snow advisory for the lowlands of Snohomish County and a warning for heavy snow in the Cascade Mountains.
Weather radar this morning showed a mix of snow and rain moving into the area. That mix should turn to snow just before noon, forecasters said.
Roads in the county this morning were wet in many areas.
Traffic was flowing smoothly with lower volumes in part thanks to the holiday week.
Stay at home if possible during the storm, experts said. Drivers should have a full tank of gas, food, water and warm clothes if they must set out in the snow.
People driving over Stevens Pass are advised to have traction tires and carry tire chains.
Snow showers were expected to include rain by this afternoon and turn to rain by evening as temperatures warm.
