EVERETT — The pedestrian who died trying to run across I-5 Sunday night has been identified as 15-year-old Haley B. Salvador of Everett, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner said today.
Haley reportedly darted eastbound across the the busy southbound lanes of the freeway near the Everett Mall round 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, Washington State Patrol trooper Brandon Lee said. She made it through the median and was hit by two cars in the northbound lanes.
Crews pronounced her dead at the scene.
The medical examiner ruled her death an accident.
Detectives with the state patrol are still trying to determine what the girl was doing on the freeway, Lee said.
