EVERETT – Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the reported abduction of a 13-year-old Everett girl last week.
The girl told detectives she first saw the man, a stranger, on Sunday, March 28 as she was walking to her home near 4th Avenue W. and 105th Street SE, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
A car pulled up and a man inside asked the girl if she wanted to have sex, Hover said. The girl said she ran off and told her mother but police were not alerted.
As the girl was taking out the trash on April 1, the same man returned, grabbed her into his car and drove off, the girl said. He then reportedly parked the car and molested the girl.
The girl said she was able to get away and ran off. She didn’t tell her mother.
She did tell a friend. The friend’s mother told school officials who contacted police, Hover said. Detectives first learned of the reported abduction on Monday.
The girl described her attacker as black, tall and with a slender build. He was reportedly wearing a red T-shirt and jeans. The suspect’s vehicle is reportedly a four-door sedan with a loud muffler.
Hover said there have not been other reports of lurings or abductions matching this description. She also said abductions by strangers are rare.
Anyone with information about the reported abduction is asked to call the sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
