PORTLAND, Ore. — Rescuers with the Skamania County dive team have recovered the body of a 12-year-old girl from Pine Hollow Reservoir east of Mount Hood.
The Oregonian reported Wasco County authorities began searching for Fanney Garcia of The Dalles on Friday night when she was reported to have drowned on the north side of the lake. Her body was recovered Saturday.
Authorities said Garcia was at the lake with her family and playing in the water with her 5-year-old sister when the two girls became distressed. Only the younger girl made it to shore.
