The Chabad Jewish Center of Snohomish County plans High Holiday services ushering in the Jewish New Year on Wednesday through Friday and Sept. 21 and 22, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur respectively. The traditional yet casual services will be guided in English, with inspirational comments and thoughts interspersed throughout the service, and prayer books will be available in English and Hebrew. No membership, prior Jewish knowledge or affiliation is necessary. There is no fee for the services.
The Holiday of Rosh Hashanah celebrates the renewal of the year and creation, when we take stock of our previous year and look to bring new energy to our lives in the coming year through prayer, song and the blowing of the Shofar. The Holiday of Yom Kippur is a fast day, offering the opportunity to focus on spiritual needs over bodily ones. Together, these High Holidays open the Jewish New Year of 5768 since creation.
The Chabad Jewish Center welcomes anyone of Jewish faith or family to attend. Reservations are suggested; call 425-353-7377 or e-mail info@snojewish.org for more information. Donations in honor of the High Holidays may be made at www.SnoJewish.org/Donate. For more information on the High Holiday Services, go to www.SnoJewish.org/HHServices.
