Group delivers over 14,000 free lunches
The Brown Bag Brigade of Monroe recently celebrated their second anniversary with a potluck lunch. The group has distributed more than 14,000 sack lunches to low-income and homeless people in Monroe and the Sky Valley area.
The Brown Bag Brigade was also given $500 by Sam’s Club Seattle to use for food for those in need.
Many local organizations and individuals support the Brown Bag Brigade. The Monroe Sky Valley Food Bank provides bread for the sandwiches, The Red Hat Club of Gold Bar and local “Cookie Fairies” provide homemade cookies on an ongoing basis.
The Brown Bag Brigade is a weekly feeding program for the needy and homeless in the Skykomish River Valley area. It delivers brown bag lunches to people in the Monroe, Sultan, and Gold Bar areas.
