Did someone forget to send Gov. Chris Gregoire the memo that her cap-and-trade proposal is on legislative life support?
Today, at 10 a.m., the governor plans to testify on her request legislation – SB 5735 in front of the House Ecology and Parks Committee.
What’s before the committee is a watered-down version of what Gregoire originally proposed. There’s no cap, no trade, only a study.
Environmentalists are still pressing hard to reinsert some teeth into the bill. It will be interesting to see what Gregoire says she wants at this stage.
