EVERETT — Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire and Republican Dino Rossi bring their electoral battle into Snohomish County this weekend with the governor trying to reverse her fortune of 2004 and the challenger trying to repeat his.
Rossi won a majority of votes in this county in 2004, the first time a Republican candidate for governor accomplished that feat in two decades.
In their rematch, both have been making regular visits into the county to hold fundraisers and campaign events.
Their respective activities this weekend may be their final scheduled ones before Election Day on Nov. 4.
On Saturday, Rossi will bring his “Road to Victory” tour to Everett for a 9 a.m. rally at his campaign office at 3811 Broadway.
For information, call his campaign office at 425-498-2008.
On Sunday, Gregoire will be joined by Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano and Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
That rally begins at 2:30 p.m. in the center located at 3711 196th St. SW. Also expected to attend are Washington’s Democratic U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.
For information, call the campaign office at 206-382-2008.
