LYNNWOOD — A robber who holds up bank branches inside grocery stores along Highway 99 and the Bothell-Everett Highway struck again Monday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The man is suspected of robbing about a dozen banks in Snohomish and King counties.
The robbery occurred when he walked into the Bank of America branch inside Safeway in the 14800 block of Highway 99 at 6:04 p.m., Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said. He approached a teller and showed a note demanding money. The teller complied and the robber fled on foot, leaving through the grocery store’s south door.
Witnesses described him as a white male, in his mid-30s, of average height and build, unshaven, wearing a shaggy brown wig, a blue-and-white baseball cap and a light gray, zip-up sweat shirt.
Detectives ask anyone with information on the robber to call the sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
