BREMERTON, Wash. — Bremerton police say a woman is accused of ramming a U.S. Marshals Service vehicle, prompting a deputy marshal to fire shots as a man sought in a recent gun store burglary was arrested in a park. No one was seriously hurt.
Bremerton Police Chief Steve Strachan said no one was injured by gunfire Monday but the arrested man and the woman with whom he was riding were treated for injuries related to the vehicle collision. Police say a deputy marshal was also treated for minor injuries suffered in the collision.
The chief identified the arrested man as 40-year-old Patrick Weldon Nelson. Fourteen firearms were stolen in the April 9 burglary of a gun shop in Gorst. Nine of the guns have been recovered.
Police said the woman driving the SUV in which Nelson was riding rammed a marshals’ vehicle in an attempt to get away, causing significant damage.
