Work and play: “I want to go to a four-year university, preferably a small one. I’d like to major in math or science, and hopefully play softball.”
On the run: Stays active as a member of cross-country, basketball and softball teams. Says she loves them all, but plays softball on a select team that travels near and far for tournaments and practices year-round.
Hot corner: Plays third base, getting lots of fielding chances.
Math No. 1: “I like all my classes but I think math and science are my favorites. I’ve liked math since an early age. I really like to solve problems.”
Future uncertain: Could teach, become an engineer or join military.
Big Apple: Visited brother, Kell, at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in New York. Trip took her to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Doesn’t think she will follow his footsteps. “We are not competitive, but I want to be different.”
Brotherly love: “I’m the youngest. I have enjoyed it. It’s nice having two older brothers to joke around with. They have helped me a lot.”
Likes her sleep: Doesn’t watch much TV and tries to get nine hours sleep a night. “I want sleep so I don’t get crabby. I am one of those high-sleep people. … “
Thanks, Mom: Gets a ride to and from school from her mom, who also makes her lunch. “I enjoy it a lot more than school lunches.”
Favorite movie: “Remember the Titans.”
Staying busy: Vice president of school’s Future Business Leaders of America, part of leadership class and involved in Spanish Club, Honor Society, ASB, Knowledge Bowl and Link Crew, which helps freshmen adjust to high school.
