Head of Mt. Bachelor leaves position

BEND, Ore. — The head of Mt. Bachelor ski area is no longer with the organization, though the resort is not explaining the leadership change.

The Bulletin reports that President and General Manager Dave Rathbun no longer holds a position with the resort as of Wednesday. Rathbun says he is unable to speak about the circumstances surrounded his departure.

Director of Finance John McCloud will serve as acting general manager. McCloud did not return a call for comment.

Rathbun has been president and general manager since 2008. During his tenure Mt. Bachelore expanded its offseason offerings to include a disc golf course and trails for summertime hiking and mountain biking.
