Federal lawmakers aren’t the only ones scheduling town hall meetings on healthcare reform.
Individuals opposed to the proposals under consideration in Congress have scheduled their own town hall at the IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton at 7 p.m. Thursday.
They will save seats on stage for U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. Of course, it will be a shocker if either senator shows up; both of them have said they’re not hosting or attending such gatherings.
Organizers, including Seeds of Liberty of Snohomish County and a physician-led effort known as TakeBackMedicine.com , anticipate folks will be coming from all over the Puget Sound region to participate.
Kirby Wilbur of radio station KVI will moderate and speakers will include Kathryn Serkes, director of policy and public affairs for the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.
