The Highway 529 bridge over the Snohomish River between Everett and Marysville was closed for about 45 minutes this morning after heavy frost caused several cars to spin out, Washington State Police Trooper Keith Leary said.
The bridge was closed between 9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m., Leary said. The Everett Police Department investigated the spinouts, while a crew from the state Department of Transportation sanded all the bridge decks between the two cities.
The morning’s heavy frost did not cause traffic problems elsewhere in the county, Leary said. The freeways were clear of accidents despite heavy traffic for the holiday season’s major shopping day, he said.
