EDMONDS — A number of businesses along Highway 99 in Edmonds have reported problems with people trying to pass counterfeit bills within the past two weeks, Sgt. Mark Marsh said Thursday.
Police are asking people to keep an eye out. The bills have been between $5 and $100 and are poorly made, Marsh said.
“The Edmonds Police Department does not currently have any suspects in these cases but wanted the general public and businesses to be aware to safeguard against taking these counterfeit bills,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing. Police in Arlington reported a similar problem in February.
