INDEX — A hiker was rescued Saturday after she injured her knee in the wilderness and was unable to walk out on her own.
The woman, 51, camped at Dish Pan Gap in the Skykomish Ranger District Wilderness Area roughly 10 miles from the trailhead.
Another hiker volunteered to walk out and drove to Skykomish to get assistance around 1:30 p.m.
The woman was hoisted out of the area by a Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue helicopter team and taken to the fire station in Gold Bar.
