LYNNWOOD — A Lynnwood man who police believe started a fire Tuesday night near Lynnwood High School was arrested for investigation of first-degree arson.
Police believe the man, 41, who lives in the woods, may also be responsible for more than a dozen fires in the area, according to a police affidavit.
On Tuesday, Lynnwood police including Sandor, a police dog, tracked the man down not far from the fire, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.
Several police were in the area during the annual National Night Out event and quickly descended on the area, she said.
Witnesses identified the man as leaving the scene of the fire, Sessions said.
The man denied lighting the fire. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
