SEATTLE — Taxi cabs circled the Seattle City Hall on Friday afternoon, honking their horns to protest ride share competition.
KOMO Radio reports the protest tied up downtown traffic.
The demonstration was organized by the Western Washington Taxicab Operators Association.
Drivers complain that it’s unfair for the city to allow the less-regulated ride share services to undercut fares charged by licensed cab drivers who follow the rules. They’re asking the city to enforce laws that protect taxi drivers.
