SNOHOMISH — A hot air balloon got stuck on the ground near Highway 9 on Wednesday morning, prompting selfies.
The operator apparently tried to land and take off again, but the balloon got stuck, according to firefighters. There are trees and a retention pond in that spot.
A passing driver called 911 about 8:15 a.m. near the highway’s intersection with U.S. 2. At first, people thought the balloon had crashed.
It was unclear how many riders were on board at the time.
The owner of the balloon had it deflated and removed quickly, according to the Washington State Patrol.
