House Democrats flexed their muscle tonight to pass a state budget that carves $4 billion out of education, healthcare, human services and public safety programs
Emotion flowed in two hours of debate that ended with the rare oral roll call vote.
It passed on a 54-42 margin with two Republicans excused.
Democrats alone backed the budget. Eight Democrats joined 34 Republicans in dissent. I put the vote below.

Next up,. the Senate Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on the legislation at 8 a.m. Saturday. A Senate vote is expected Sunday, the last scheduled day of the session.
