Hung jury in Kitsap trial of man accused of killing baby

PORT ORCHARD — Kitsap County jurors were unable to reach a verdict in the murder trial of a man accused of shaking his infant daughter to death.

A hung jury Thursday ended the trial of the Kingston man, Hector Francisco Saavedra Ruiz, 22. His re-trial has been scheduled for March 16.

The Kitsap Sun reported that he’s accused of fatally injuring his 5-month-old daughter in July after smoking methamphetamine. His lawyer argued there’s insufficient evidence.
