SEATTLE — A King County sheriff’s spokesman says a deputy conducting a trailhead check discovered a man dead with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Deputy Charlie Akers says the deputy found the man next to his vehicle Saturday night at about 9:20 p.m. near Duvall, about 25 miles northeast of Seattle.
Akers said in a statement it appears the man accidentally shot himself as he was putting away his gear after a day of hunting.
Officials did not release the man’s identity or other details.
