I-5 closing overnight for work on Tulalip’s new 116th overpass

TULALIP — I-5 is set for overnight closures this week at 116th Street NE.

Northbound lanes are scheduled to be closed from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Monday through Wednesday. Southbound lanes are to be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday through Friday.

A detour will take drivers on and right back on the interstate using the 116th Street ramps.

Contractor crews working for the Tulalip Tribes will set girders for the southern half of a new overpass. The northern half opened to traffic in early April. The two spans will be joined this fall. Ramps and signals will be realigned next year.
