MOUNT VERNON — Detoured traffic from the collapsed I-5 Skagit River bridge has led to an increase in crashes in Mount Vernon.
KOMO-TV reported there were 75 crashes in the first week after the May 23 bridge collapse and about a third of those involved detoured vehicles.
Residents are complaining about the number of semi-truck crawling through town in close proximity to passenger cars.
