NAMPA, Idaho — The owners of a southwest Idaho burger restaurant are sizzling mad after city officials approved a variance that means customers will have to first drive through the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.
Blazen Burgers owners Brad and Tamara Blamires on Thursday filed a precursor to a lawsuit against the city of Nampa and nine Nampa employees.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that the city council in May approved a parking lot for Carl’s Jr. that extends into what was once First Avenue South.
Brad Blamires says he bought the property from his parents before the road was officially vacated in 2004.
Nampa records contain a 1995 agreement with signatures of nearby property owners consenting to close the avenue, including Floyd Blamires.
But the agreement stipulates access to businesses.
