Nampa, Idaho — A Canyon County man pleaded not guilty to a charge of offering money for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
The Idaho Press-Tribune (bit.ly/1uKo4rW) reports that Kenneth O’Brien of Nampa entered his plea to the charge of solicitation to commit first-degree murder on Friday.
His trial is set for January. If convicted, the 20-year-old O’Brien could serve up to 15 years in prison — the same maximum penalty as for attempted first-degree murder.
O’Brien was arrested and charged after a witness told police that O’Brien offered an unknown amount of money and the use of his 9mm handgun to commit the act.
