Three hours.
That’s how often someone in Snohomish County has been getting arrested for drunken driving in the last two weeks.
And that’s just arrests made by the Washington State Patrol.
Local troopers kicked off their holiday emphasis patrols Oct. 15. By Friday they’d made 108 DUI arrests in the county, trooper Keith Leary said.
That’s about eight a day, which makes one every three hours. Wow.
Add in 34 Halloween DUI arrests in the county by local troopers.
What’s worse, Leary reminds us that the arrests aren’t all clumped in after last call. Plenty come in during the mornings and afternoons as well.
