Army reserves honor local CEO

Bristol Alliance of Companies General Manager Tom Eidsmoe was presented with a Patriot Award at his office last month in Marysville.

The award was given by John Van Dalen and John Natterstad of the Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in recognition of extraordinary support of an employee for serving in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Eidsmoe was nominated by Army Reserve Cpt. Whittier J Campbell who serves with the 903rd FEST-A in Los Alamitos, California.

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” Van Dalen said. “Supportive supervisors and managers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”

“I nominated Tom because our staff and the company’s environment is very supportive of my military career and other reserve and guard employees plus the things he does for our reserve and veteran employees throughout the year,” Campbell said. “Tom is in Marysville and I am in our California office and they flew me here to be involved with the presentation. Our president and CEO flew down from Anchorage, Alaska to be at the presentation also. They believe in our service.”

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society: The nonprofit provides interest-free loans and grants for emergency and unexpected financial needs for active duty, retired military and their family members. Hero’s Café: Hero’s Café, a social gathering for veterans, meets 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. fourth Tuesdays (except December, on the third Tuesday) at Verdant Health and Wellness Community Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Veterans can share a cup of coffee and their stories. The program is a partnership between local veterans groups and the city of Lynnwood.
