Conservation awards: Naval Air Station Whidbey Island was recently honored with a 2016 Secretary of the Navy Energy and Water Management gold-level award. Naval Station Everett was honored with a platinum award. The awards focus on energy and water management efforts. Award money will help the Navy installations further reduce their energy use.
DAV membership cards: Disabled American Veterans Snohomish County Chapter 13 says a glitch prevented some new members from being routed to their local chapter for assistance. Anyone in Snohomish County who received a membership card with the number 46011 on it should contact the chapter to have it switched to a card with 46013. More info: 425-299-3373.
Bricks fundraiser: The Stanwood Area Historical Society plans a Community Veterans Memorial for a courtyard adjacent to the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center.
