A severely injured man was found unconscious in a damaged car beneath an overpass in Everett Wednesday morning.
A construction worker on his way to work found the 39-year-old man about 7:20 a.m. near the intersection of Smith Avenue and 36th Street under the I-5 overpass.
Everett police wouldn’t describe the man’s injuries. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Everett police Lt. Bill Deckard said nobody knows what happened to the man. “We know he is going to recover from the injuries,” Deckard said.
The construction worker told police he pulled over because the man’s car appeared to have been recently damaged, police said. Other nearby cars also were damaged, Deckard said.
The man was unconscious but came out of it when medics arrived.
Police plan to inspect the man’s car for evidence as part of the investigation.
