SEATTLE — A Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman says an infant and his mother who were both critically injured in an accident that killed two other members of their family are now listed in serious condition at the Seattle hospital.
Hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg says Karina Ulriksen-Schulte remains in Harborview’s intensive care unit. Gregg says both the mother and baby Elias Ulriksen-Schulte are stable but “still have a long road ahead of them.”
Citing an online journal following the family’s progress, The Seattle Times reported that the baby was moved out of intensive care on Tuesday.
Mark Mullan of Seattle has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless driving in the March 25 crash in which his pickup truck hit four members of the family as they crossed a Seattle street.
The crash killed Dennis and Judith Schulte, retired teachers from Kokomo, Ind., who recently moved to Seattle.
